The friction primer business has been very good over the past few months. In that same time, I've also been very busy with the other elelments of the business, one of them being the new retail consumer fireworks business. These things combined with the already slow and tedious nature of making friction primers has resulted in longer wait times and more people contacting me to check up on their orders. I understand that we live in a society that expects to be able to order an item today and have it 2-3 days later, but thats not going to happen with frition primers. They are entirely hand made and very tedious, so please always allow plenty of lead time on primer orders and please dont harrass me with repeated emails checking up on an order you just placed a few days ago. I do my best to get orders out as quickly as possible, but its very common durring busy times to get back logged. Having to stop and answer this type of emails just slows things down more and causes me to develope negative feelings toward the senders, some to the point of refusing to accept future orders from them. I apologize for any inconvenience delays may cause, but its ultimatly your responsibility to not wait until the last minute to order.

Credit card payments will now be simpler and more secure. I have just set up a new system that will allow you to pay by credit/debit card securely online. No more giving me your credit card info by email or phone! In fact I will never see any of it except your last 4 digits and expiration date. Here's how it works. To place a credit card order you simply use the contact form or email to tell me the item(s) and quantities you wish to purchase. I will then create an online invoice through Wave and send the link to you by email. When you receive it, simply follow the link and securly pay the invoice online with your credit/debit card. The 3% processing fee will still apply to all card orders.
Note: Black powder must still be picked up in person even if paid online by credit card.

As is normal for this time of year, business is so slow its practically non-existant. This is obviously not good for me, but if you need primers it could be great for you. For the quickest turnaround on friction primers, the best time to order is from now until late Februaray or early March. Even if you don't have any events where you'll need them until April or May, I still reccomend ordering now to beat the spring rush. As long as you keep them dry, they stay good for years.

Lately as is to be expected, a lot of friction primer orders have been coming in with the request that they be filled before the 4th of July, and up to this point I've been doing pretty good at fullfilling this request, however as the date gets closer it will be more difficult to do. Any orders placed after this post are very unlikely to be finished and shipped before the 4th of July. I appoligize for this inconvenience, but as I'm sure you can understand this is a very busy time around here.

Tomorrow, July 1 makes 5 years that I've been in business. Its been almost a constant struggle but I've made it and I don't plan on giving up any time soon, although there are times when I feel like it. I read somewhere not long ago that a business that manages to make it to the 5 year mark is likely to succeed and continue for the long haul and thats exactly what I plan to do. I feel like the business is finally gaining some momentum and has pulled out of the rut its been in for a while. The next 5 years should be a lot better than the last 5 and hopefully will see the growth of this business into the successful enterprise that I created it to be. Thank you to all the customers who have been kind enough to do business with me, to everyone who helps with shows or to setup or watch the tent at reenactments and to the vendors I purchase from.
